The half of our trip that happened in Kyoto. Chronologically, it happened AFTER Tokyo, but I'm having a bit of trouble with those photos. Be up in a jiffy.
The top floor of the Kyoto Station...it's happy

On a very long walk, we stopped at a curry-rice shop and Maggie took some terrific artistic photos of these two dudes.

Little statues at a shrine

The Golden Pavilion

To prove Maggie had a good time after all.

Maggie and Golden Pavilion

Hard money!

We spotted this baby and adored her/him...an abobinable snow baby!

Shinto ladies in a booth.

Well explained. Buddhism explained in, what, fifty words or less.

Priest sighting!

If you pour the water into the well, it makes a sound like a koto harp. We taped it. Only there was some construction going on simultaneoubly. Whoops.

Fun with signs

Fun with signs

A cute little statue

I just adored this aqueduct. I dunno why, I just did.

"Umm, waiter? This food is live!" "That's the what the sign says, right?"

The sign says, "Get thee be nunnery"

Do as the sign says...it must know.

Beautiful little shrine in the middle of a temple

The famous temple with thousands of red arches...the only snow we saw in Kyoto.

A girl in a kimono in Starbucks in Kyoto...East meets West, right?
