So, I started my day in the wee hours (9 AM...it's wee for me!) I ran Maggie's application to NYU (at an impossible address... 1/2 5th Ave. Yes, yes it does exist) and then had two and a half hours or so to kill before meeting RLT at my especial center on my special street. I killed those two a half hours good and dead. Easy to do, really, when you're both easily distracted and easily impressed.
So after hanging with ye olde RLT (by the way, there's another Red Lion Cafe/Bar, ready and waiting, for post-graduation in NY), I met up with Lex for two Hitchcock films, "The Wrong Man" (no, I don't know why the parenthesis either) and Rope. The former starred Henry Fonda and the latter Jimmy Stewart. Both were fabulous, beyond words. I can stress nothing so much as that you ought to see either/both of these movies. J'adore Hitchcock. J'-frickin-adore him.
But AFTER the "after that", I went home and Maggie cajoled me into watching Dumbo with her...it made me SOB. Like a little baby. Is there ANYTHING in the entire WORLD so cute as that baby elephant? And so very sad? I really sobbed and sobbed..with Maggie mocking me for having expressed some concern over the fact that the poor elephant baby has to go by the name those nasty hag-elephants made up to taunt him with. The exact quote was: "It's so sad that he has to be called Dumbo when his name is Jumbo Jr." She may have laughed at me oodles, but when the poor baby could only touch his mother-elephant through to bars of a cage, she cried oodles too.
The cutest of the cute )
