Update from the homefront
Jan. 29th, 2006 02:07 amYep. I am home. I hadn't planned it, but here I am. I was gonna meet my dad and sister for a play (Lonesome West ... it's at the New theatre for all those in the New Brunsick area and ya'll should all see it cuz it's fantabulous. and we all know i am scanty on praise for drama that is not shakey. but here, i radiate pleasure. twas a helluva play, but i digress) and maybe dinner beforehand. Then I start getting calls from all my family, starting with Gids while I was eating Lunch/brunch with the boys (aka Andrew, Chase, and Mike). Gids wants some anime from me, I promise it for the next time I am home. Then I get one from my dad confirming dinner and such yadda yadda. Then, a call from Maggie. Those who don't know my sister might think to themselves "it's not so wierd to get a call from one's sister is it? mine calls all the time. she knows what all the buttons on her cellphone do." ah, you must have a sister cut from a different sort of cloth than mine. she HAS the cellphone, she just forgets things about it. like where "on" is or how to see if she has gotten any (thousand) messages while her phone has been "off" since the last time she figured out where the "on" button was. So, her calling is reason enough for bated breath and choirs of angels. (maybe i exagerate a tad) But, she's calling to utter those magical words that have had me running errands all over the new york city area for weeks: "Bess, I need a favor." Some might think to themselves "yes, why doesn't ahe ask what the favor is before she says yes?" and to them I say "Bah!" I have sisterly affection, what can i say? So I agree and am now home. Maggie wanted me to come home with them after the play so she could have some company tomorrow to go to chinatown...in other words, I am her buffer between herself (honky) and chinatown (cool and unknown).
And that, ladies and gents, is why I am home. Exiting, I know. You were on the edges of your seats throughout, I have no doubt. Stay tuned for the next update, of equal thrill value: "Why I am doing my homework". No, just kidding. I never update regularly anyway.
